Marathon Tribute Statue
This statue is representative of all runners in the Marathon. It depicts a person completing the race.
Panathenaic Stadium
This stadium was reconstructed after being preserved. The whole stadium is made out of marble (this is the only stadium in the world made entirely of white marble). Today it is used during the Olympic Games; in 2004 it was used for archery and the ending point of the marathon. It's also used today as the end of the Athenian Marathon. There was an ancient Greek messenger who died at the stadium after returning to Athens from Marathon, Greece. The message he gave was to let the Athenians know they had beat the Persians.

We found the beach!
This is across the street from our hotel. It was our first stop in Athens after checking in at the hotel. Look at that beautiful water of the Aegean Sea!
